Refuge: Disaster Relief System

Hurricane De[Fence] is a new building material primarily used for building city structures such as road medians, park benches, and sound barriers. These building blocks are easily blow molded locally in Indonesia (plastics being a large export for the country already) and 100% recyclable

Each piece will be held together using a rammed earth style compound, and are specifically engineered to hold up against nothing stronger than a category 3 storm. At this breaking point, the structure will break apart and act as a flotation device. Pieces of the De[Fence] system can be gathered up to build emergency shelters after the disaster.
